Afsoon (af-soon) is Farsi for “desire.” And desire is something we all have in common. You can desire an event that’s lavish and loud, one that’s traditional and intimate — or maybe something entirely different. We desire to bring it to life without the added stress of educating someone on your customs and beliefs.

I founded Afsoon because I was frustrated by the lack of diversity in event planning. As an Afghan American, I struggled to find someone who understood anything about my identity. Having worked as a cultural consultant in the Midwest for many years, and before that as a journalist across the globe, I know I’m not alone in that feeling. Those experiences led me here. And I’m excited to hear what brought you to Afsoon.
